Having graduated from Exeter University with a degree in English and Fine Art, I promptly tired of asking ‘What is Art?’ and entered the world of television.

My first experience was Shift a late night ‘youth’ magazine show for ITV that was also a scheme for graduates – eight of us wrote, researched, shot and directed the whole thing, with the safety net of a proper producer and editor so that the thing got on air and made some sort of sense.

It was during this training scheme that I had the chance to pitch an idea to Childrens’ Television. My ‘kid accidentally builds a robot sister’ idea may have been ahead of its time (or not very good) but it never got on air. However it did give me the chance to write for Whizziwig a series about a wish giving alien.

I also wrote a feature script, Now You See It which secured me an agent and some interest from the BBC. Since then I have written three episodes of Doctors (it’s on between Neighbours and either Quincy or Diagnosis Murder. Then again it might be called Diagnosis Quincy or Murder Neighbours)

I have also written several spec scripts for both children and adults and have a number of feature projects in various stages of ‘development’ ranging from being truly in development to ‘haven’t got beyond the title yet.’
